Learn how your counselor can help!

I love that you have taken the time to be a part of this blog as a way to be heard. It takes courage to have a voice. As a counselor, I am honored when I get to be a part of someone's journey and to hear their voice. Please know that if you choose to come to a counselor, I am here to listen. I am here to support, not judge. I have found a piece that I think says my beliefs and what I do so well:
We are here to listen...not work miracles.
We are here to help students discover what they are feeling...not to make their feelings go away.
We are here to help students and parents identify options...not to decide what they should do.
We are here to discuss steps with students and parents...not to take steps away from them.
We are here to help students discover that they can help themselves...not to take responsibility for them.
We are here to help students learn to choose...not to keep them from making difficult choices. We are here to provide support to change.
You matter. You have value. You are important.
